My name is Abdoulaye Ba; I am a student in astrophysics at the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar (Senegal); where I did all my university studies. Currently I am also a student teacher at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Senegal. My academic training was purely in physics and chemistry. I have always been fascinated by the stars and the study of space since my childhood. This is what motivated me to present my master thesis on the European Rosetta mission and I also had to participate several times in summer schools in astronomy(see CV). In spite of our meagre means, every year we try to organize activities in astronomy to make people better known and involved in this field. Because this field was not too well known in Senegal, but it is starting to take place there, hence the idea of building an observatory, which I am currently working on. And I hope, with the status of the IAAC embassy in Senegal, I will be able to lead this work so that in the end it will be a total success.
